Each year the AMA releases updates to the CPT codes at their annual Symposium. Detailed information about revised and new codes is disseminated to attendees and is shared with those listening to this audioconference. 2026 will see 288 new codes, 84 deletions and 46 revisions.
Knowledge of the CPT codes, even in a perfunctory manner, is an important part of looking forward to the next year’s code assignment.
